A Brief History of Time

Hello All my non existent readers,

To say its been a long time since my last post would be well....and understatement.  My last post was on May 6 2012 as you can tell by scrolling down this page.  It is now currently May 28 2013 and so much has happend I am not completely sure where to start. So lets see how it goes.

Currently I am still living and working in Phuket. I have left the nonprofit sector (for the time being) to live and work at the British International School Phuket (BIS).  I came on originally to stick in events and marketing along with helping out in athletics and basically anywhere else they needed me.  My role has completely transformed and now I am a squad level swim coach who does 13 sessions a week with students aged 4 to students who wouldn't be so happy broadcasting their ages on the internet (ie BIS parents). I also am doing some teaching in primary.  Next year I will be returning to BIS and doing much more work in Primary, years 5/6, and get my international teachers certificate (PGCEi) from Nottingham University in the UK. If everything goes according to plan at the end of 2014 I will be an internationally certified teacher with the inability to teach in either USA or the UK.......maybe internationally certified should come with an added footnote.  This does mean however that any international school in the world would actually look at my resume now.  Its a big step with very little downside I am just not 100% sure that it is in the right direction. How did I, a person once called illiterate by my department in college, end up working in schools?  The world may never know.  Lets get to the fun stuff.

In the past year since I have written a blog post I have rarely left Phuket....I mean like 15 nights off the island.  I have gone wakeboarding in the Andaman ocean, scuba dived (for the first time since 2005) with Manta Rays, gotten cellulitis....twice, gone to Singapore...twice, been hospitalized luckily only once, coached teeball, track and field, swimming, hosted and written pub quizzes, gotten my picture in the newspapers, bought a motorbike (ok fine a scooter), was at a party with the new cast of the Real World when they were filming some episodes, house sat at some amazing places, had my family visit, changed jobs...twice, had jello shots on Christmas my first sans family, cooked a traditional Thai chicken on Christmas eve, celebrated another birthday in Asia at a bar called dukes where I drank some Rogue beer, and overall had a pretty amazing time plus a pretty good tan.  That one little sentence (no way you could call that a sentence and my fellow  teachers will have more that enough nightmares about this post) couldnt nearly sum up my experiences so I will post some pics down this post.

My near future will be here in Phuket and I would love to host any of you who read this blog.  In July I will be working at the BIS summer camp which should be a blast.  In August I will make my low awaited return to America for a quick trip before I am back in Phuket for the start of school on the 27th!

My god how time flies I have missed all the people who read this blog because lets face it I know all of you personally.  So without further adieu the only thing you actually will look at the pics.  By the way if you are in any of these photos and would like me to take them down please email me and I will be happy to do so.
